GU high steer

Post by turbogu »

hey all, just wondering is there any one out there that does a high steer kit for gu's, or gq's if the knuckles are the same?

just put 7" lift in the patrol and the engineer said he'll pass it if i can get the steering back to the factory height

cheers sean

If you level the steering you also have to do the panhard as well, if you don't it will change lanes when you hit a bump.
This is a GQ, this arm won't fit a GU, John McDonald never made them for GU's he only ever sold a handfull of GQ ones so he never bothered doing them for GU's, but it gives you an idea atleast.

i have seen a GU front with swapped swivel hubs and the tierod in front of the diff, with an MQ knuckle on the end so it has the steering arm taper in it. Seemed to work good under a lot of stress.

Thanks for the info, so it sounds like it will have to be a custom job, i was hoping for a bolt in kit to make life easy!!!

dont want to go doing knuckle swaps and things, that all sounds like a bit too much stuffing around for me

cheers sean
