taking tyre off rim - how?

how the hell do i take a tyre off a rim? i've already broken the bead, and the outside of the tyre is off the rim, i just need to get the inside of the tyre off the outside of the rim.

got basic tools, rubber mallet, 2 tyre levers, hammer, crow bar, grinder.

go and get it and run it across the top of all your knckles before you start !! cause its bound to happen any way

But get the tyre on the ground lift the rim up and get a tyre lever in behind one side and try and stand the rim up in the tyre then pull like Faarrk !!!

USE THE GRINDER & POST PICS!!!

get the lever in from the back,
hooked to the front of the rim,
with the tyre/wheel standing up.
With the tyre lever at the highest point,
flip it right over the tread and it will start peeling.
proceed to hit the rest of with the mallet.... or grinder

If you have the first side off all you have to do is put the lever between tyre and rim from the inside and then roll the lever over the tyre pivoting on the rim. (make sure end of lever is securely fixed as if it slips out you'll have a facefull of fun) Then get a rubber mallet and wack the tyre on both sides of the lever and it should come off quite easily. Also dishwashing liquid helps in removal and stops bead rubber from getting chunked. You are pretty much gauranteed to get a couple of scratches on ya rim from lever. Oh and another thing often there is an easier side of the rim to take the tyre off usually the inside as it has the smallest diameter of the rim real close to the bead therefore tyre bead doesn't have to deform as much.

this was what my mate was doing, and he almost had a hernia doing it.

Hey i must be a slow typer as what Marty! wrote wasn't there when i replied (must be the beer). Also an easy way to break a bead is to just drive over tyre or lower axle down onto tyre (ensuring you don't hit the rim) and if the tyre is stuffed your wheel studs get good grip on the rubber.
