gq auto choke

Post by shakes »

pulled the carby off to do a rebuild today due to leaky seals and noticed that the butterfly for the auto choke had been taken out (the cars on gas so I assume that's the reason)
Am i able to pull off the rest of the auto choke crap too... ie the vacum diaphram and linkages from what i can see and sus out the throttle doesnt rely on this being there? for no reason other than to simplify the carb a lil

I thought that if you where running striaght gas. You could take the carby off and put the gas stuff straight ontop of the inlet manifold.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....

its dual fuel. and from my basic understanding of gas... chokes do more bad than good when cold starting on gas( I'm guessing thats the reason the butterfly was removed)

if someone could shed a bit more light on this for me that'd be great!

if ya got dual fuel then start it on petrol then switch to gas ;)

do the same when u get home , run it on petrol down ya street before ya switch it off.

gas dries all the seals out pretty quik, the fuel will help keep them wet and lasting longer :D
just a little left of insanity :)
