well did a trip up licola last weekend ..mates bucks show !
went with a whole heap of boys with new toys (mine was definately the oldest car by miles) although i did the whole trip in 2wd was more for camping then 4wding though.
Although those rocky, long, annoying, dusty roads take there toll.
After trip have :
leaking gearbox (have already got a new seal to put in)
warn powersteer pump (vibrates and groans a lot, on last legs)
sticking startermotor (been like it for a little while)
more squeeks and rattles
anyone had trouble with bigger tyres and powersteer ... this is now my second pump (although looked pretty warn when i put on from old motor) ?
and will by startermotor number 4 being put in soon :(
just enough time to have ready for the 21st

No I haven't had any drama's with the power steering pump.
I think they were beefed up a bit for the Gen 2 though.
Had it blow the relief a few times with the front Detroit when it didn't want to unlock for turns against obstacles.
I went for a trip to the High Country after Xmas for 5 days, it was very hot and dusty. We stopped after a steep climb to admire the view and it wouldn't restart (jammed solenoid) I let it roll foward a touch and then it started. I think the fine dust will get in particularly as they are a front facing starter.
