Tyre Selection advise

Hi all,
I dont want to start a big debate again,
But can not decide which of the following would be best for my needs. I have narrowed selection to these 3.

Coopers STT
BFG M/T
Yokohama G011.

On a 89 SWB 2.5TD Pajero.
Mainly on road, Tow boat with some Beach and Off road.
Have been qaouted $285.00 for any of these in a 32X11.5X15.

The BFG M/T wouldnt suit you would it.

Have you considered kelly's. Im running two different sets on 2 diff cars and am happy with them. Not the best in mud but are ok and very quiet and happy on road

i picked up maxxis A/T's (33 X 12.5) for $190 each at "the tyre factory". im sure you can get 32's and they would be cheaper, great for road and good for beachwork. i always thought M/T's in sand dig to much unless you air them down....then there's too much side wall flex which isn't always good in solf sand

I have the new STTs, and am very happy with them. Great offroad, quiet on-road, although wear has been a little faster than I was hoping - but still not too bad. All over Fraser at 20psi, up and down Cape York at 25 front/28 rear - never stopped, no leaks or flats.

I've never driven on/owned the BFGs or the Yokohamas.

What about the new Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor ? it's been compared to BFG a/t and cooper a/t and all the test results point to the GY

- kevlar construction to provide extra strength to the tyre as well as reduced road noise.
- 'durawall technology' common to the MT/R (good when you drop your pressures to 20psi on the beach)
- silica based tread to help wet weather traction without sacrificing tyre wear

it's a 50/50 onroad/offroad tyre too

the only downside is, it's not available in a 32.. just a 31 - but that's more than adequate for a PJ IMO

I have 30x9.5 Copper STT on my NJ 3.0ltr lwb. They look great, but I find mine are getting noiseier the longer there on. Originally I was going to get just the ST's. We notice the noise more on smooth asphalt. Over 80km/h the sound gets left behind and drowned out by other sounds. If you like your music abit louder, than you may not notice it at all.
Im wondering if at lower pressure they may be quieter on a lighter fourby such as "NJ SWB's", because he finds them quiet on road. I run mine at 28psi. Anyway maybe look at the ST's if noise is a big factor in your choice.

I run mine at 36 on bitumen.

On the same vehicle I've had 31" S/Ts, 33" MT/Rs and now 33" STTs - I didn't notice significant noise differences between them, but perhaps my exhaust is too loud? I don't have trouble with conversation at highway speeds, which is all I'm really concerned about...
