1ltr head onto 800cc

ok its just a long shot question,
but would the head off a 1ltr go onto an 800cc lj 80 motor.

reason being, I have an lj80 with a cracked head and can't find another one.

the motors look the same, although I have never sat them side be side.

but I am woundering if it is a similar thing the 800 and 1000, have going on, like the 1.3 and the 1.6, head wise

ie the interchangeability of the two.

are the bore the same.

help is appreciated, or if someone has a 1Ltr they don't want, I'm more than happy to take it.

Yep F10 head will go on a F8 and vice versa, should have no troubles

yes but you will have a higher clearance volume meaning that your compression ratio will be lower so it will be slower NA but good for forced induction

get the head shop to measure the clearance heights between the two heads and do it that way

i know the Suzuki Hatch has an F8B 3 Cylinder engine... is the LJ80 a F8A 4 cylinder? (i searched all the way through my LJ80 manual and low and behold not one reference tot the actual engine code!)

just an idea... if the head fits then you could stroke it with a f10a crank, giving it 869cc

im from maitland, near newcastle

but currently have the little beast running again, so am holding off a head transplant.

I used some bottle of stuff, that has stemed the amount of bubbles in the radiator.
I say stemed, because I'm not sure that they have totally stoped, but its not blowing all the water out, and it was 40*C here today and I gave it a flogging, and there was still water in there after 25 minute of harsh driving.

am currently in a mad rush to get my sierra on the road, so no need to drive the lj.

i know someone with an f8 in a carry sittin in his yard doin nothing, if you want the head off that he'll sell it cheap. his going to flog the carry off to one of those blokes that give ya 50 bucks to move it anyway

so a f8 motor with a f10 head on it would give a lower CR.? this would be a good combo for a turbo.!

yeah but its only a small stock motor.
it would be good if there was heaps of them about, then you could just keep swaping out the motor every time you blew it up!

a 1.3 is a good candidate for run till it blows and so is a como motor.

I know people have bad dreams about the weight of a v6, but a twin turbo v6 set up, would be cool. and every time it blew up it would cost $500 for a new one.

but that would be alot of power for a zook. might be a conversion for a winch challenge hilux.

f8a-f10a cyl head

hi all the f10a cyl head will fit straight on a f8a you only have to fit the f8a fuel pump/distrib housing for it to fit in a lj 80 unless you want to cut o hole in your bonnet
