Overhaul kit for ct26 turbo - where?

Post by udm »

I got myself a toyota ct26 turbo for the cruiser, and before fitting it to the car, i want to change bearings and stuff, is there any aftermarket kit? or you would just buy them from toyota?

If aftermarket available, where, having in mind I´m sydney located.

Any decent turbo shop should have the seals and bearing you need. Its not a difficult job.

If the turbo has the ceramic exhaust wheel, it would be worth replacing it with a steel one.

Yeh, I just found out they dont have anything to do with major repairs, they´ve only got gaskets for it.

Got some quotes though, like a brand new (not rebuilt) complete center section for $1000 at garrett-chipping norton, and at GCG, $725 for the kit/compressor wheel/balancing.
