Hi Tazz I purchased a 3.0TD GU late last year and was advised by the dealer they only do them every 10,000km now, despite the fact the book shows 5,000km intervals. No doubt all part of the manufacturers trying to reduce servicing costs so the things wear out quicker. Makes you wonder!

I'm quite sure my manual says 10k under normal running but if certain difficult conditions are met then 5k intervals. those conditions can be - stop start driving ( city ) ; Dusty outback rods ; towing etc etc. I do mine at 5k regardless ( peace of mind ????????? )

every 3l hilux i've come across with a broken or cracked crank has had 10000km service's. everyone one who's done then at 5000km doesn't seem to have this problem. oil is cheap conpared to motors.

I get the dealer to do the 10,000kms and I do the 5,000 services myself despite what the book recommends.
