can this little beasty be aquired without buying the whole of the timing case casting ?

I looked at a water pump bearing once from TRW I think, it came very close if not perfect...

yes, I believe it can - try ringing ritter automotive, I'm fairly sure they've done it before - you may have to pull the whole front of the case off to be able to press the bearing off though.
84 Rangie, 3 inch spring lift, 2 inch body, Megasquirted 4.6, R380, rear Maxi, 34x11.5 JT2s. Simex FM installed.
