Shentai / Kangaroo Imports rattle gun
Anyone know why they dont come with a socket to fit Rangies / Landy's?
Afterall, these vehicles are the most prone to breaking down.
(I own one!)
Took me six wheel changes on me little Brumby to crack the 19mm socket that came with the kit. Guess ya can't expect much for the price.
Afterall, it does say on the instructions that the device is 'only for emergency use'

socket dilema
It's not that it doesn't come with a socket to fit a rangie it's a fact that rangie's don't come with nuts to fit the sockets!!!!!
You can get these things on ebay quite cheaply too - just search for "12 volt impact".
They work a little differently to your normal rattle gun, so much so that I thought mine was rooted before when I first used it.
It's more of a spool up a dirty big flywheel then dump the clutch kind of action instead of a 'rattle', but it will undo nuts that would be hard to tackle any other way.

Somehow I knew that was gonna be said.
Bought mine at the 4wd show at Maitland last year from the ARB tent for $69.95. Very happy with it except for cracking the 19mm. Rather than going to Super Cheap and buying a proper 19mm impact socket for $2.50 I wrapped the cracked 19mm in 20x2mm plate and welded it all up. Sweet - works fine now and wont break in a hurry.
Also have a bunch of 7ah 12v sealed acid batteries. Can easily do a tyre swap or undo a bunch of nuts/bolts out in the middle of the paddock away from your vehicle running off these batteries. Tis a nifty idea.

I bought one from straithfield car radio here in Maitland, bought it home, went to use it.Thats how it performed,so I took it back thinking it was broken sales person didnt understand what I ment so we went and used it. They also thought it was broken so refunded my money
2 weeks later my mate shows me what he bought ,I tell him what happened with mine,so he proceedes to tell me thats how they work .
I guess I`ll have too look at one this year at the show again
2001 100 series stock as a rock
What is the nut size for the Range Rover? I am the guy who has been selling the 500Nm 12V impact wrenches on eBay (although I am temporarily very low on stock) and I ship with 17mm, 19mm, 21mm and 23mm. This is fine for Nissan owners like me but I have since found out that 'cruisers are 22mm! For the next batch I will be getting some 22mm sockets so would love to know what I need for Range Rovers as well.

Makes it trickey for your average thief to steal your wheels!
Use to work in a car yard, plenty of wheels get stolen and often the vehicle just dropped on the discs. (if your lucky they leave it sitting on bricks.)
Never heard of rover wheels being stolen!
