Early and Late Hilux tcases. How to tell which is which?

Post by DamTriton »

I am having problems identifying whether I have an early or late version of the gear drive Tcase. I am trying to buy a bearing set and have been told that they are different for the two versions.

Is there any easy way of identifying which case is which??

(Yes I have looked in the bible, prayed to God, been on my knees to Mecca, grown curly hair, etc...)

Early models have the shifter on top on the transfer, newer ones have the shifter on the gearbox's extension housing.

Thanks guys, didn't know if they had actually changed any internals or not. The two kits were different prices with some different part numbers (obviously seals for the shift rails)
