Diff housing repairs
Moderator: Micka
dont think my cradle would work that well with a highmount..
although, just looking at some old pics of when I first made it.. and seeing as steves Rangie would not have auto cooler, you would be able to make it fit by cutting into the grille...
cheap, easy winch mount that is totally tucked away and does not interfere with the approach angle...
let us know if you want some pics or dimensions..

I reckon it would be easy to lengthen the mounting arms to extend it further out from the grill - then there will be metal to weld some tube to.landy_man wrote:dont think my cradle would work that well with a highmount..

ey Steve, pity to here about the diff housing :(BIg StEvE wrote:I recently bought a Highmount winch so im keen as to get that on but i need to by a bar for it. Might be worth wacking in one of the old centres and repairing my housing myself with my welder. If i do that i could by a winch bar and take it easy for a while!
Don't forget if your going to buy a winch bar let me know as i'm on the lookout for one aswell. Might be able to get some discount thing happening!!

Yeah for sure i would like it to be really close to optimise aproach angle but out just enough for me to fab up a hoop and bar too! I dont run a grill anymore so i have acres of room to play with!Loanrangie wrote:I reckon it would be easy to lengthen the mounting arms to extend it further out from the grill - then there will be metal to weld some tube to.landy_man wrote:dont think my cradle would work that well with a highmount..

Hahaha nar they have been sitting in 42 degree heat for a while on rags but there was a bit of water in with the oil! Because of the hole in the housing i drained it a couple of days earlier also.TRobbo wrote:What the!

Took the old girl out this morning to see how it would hold up! Only on the muds thou!
Just did some of the tracks that are easier especially in the dry conditions. Mudzuki had some shit he just fixed so he was testing it out just like myself with my rear diff.TRobbo wrote:where did you go - looks like you found some fun tracks.
Started off on some of the basics off Marginal Rd then Down Cockpit and back up. Then straight up blowhard tk. After that the smoke from the bushfires in glenburn was looking threatening so we left for home.
Tony we should get up there together some time!
