Hilux Diff Question

I've got a 94 2.8 Diesel Solid axle lux. It runs 31's and the speedo is almost spot on. The front diff is gone, how do I know what ratio diff is in it without taking it apart. (so I can get a replacement, only one car)? The VIN says it is a 4.3 ratio but with stock 205's it was 10klms under on the speedo?

jack up the front tire and make a chalk mark on it then rotate the wheel two full revolution's (u will need to lock the hubs) and count how many turns the driveshaft makes.

Nearly all cars speedos are out from the factory, they are normaly 5 to 10 ks under. I think you fined its 4.3

look on the front of the diff it should hav the ratio stamped

Yeah it was a 4.3 minus a few teeth

I put a rear LSD in. Not as good as a locker but for an extra $100 better than an open (just). All I had to do was grind the 5mm chamfer off each axle.
