hey all.
im lifting my spook using lux diffs,a-arms,coilovers,bla bla bla.i have another chassis to use but it wont have a body or motor during the build up.does anyone know how to account for the extra weight of the motor and body while trying to set up the suspension and height?

put suzuki engine on bathroom scales and write down the weight.
put suzuki gearbox on bathroom scales and write down the weight.
borrow another 3 sets of bathroom scales off your neighbours and put one under each wheel. write down the weights.
add it all up and work out the front end bias for the engine, etc..
Should work, I reckon??

There is setup coils available for coilovers, they are single rate coils and one coil. Buy a set of them and then you can drive it around with them on it. I would say they might be around $160 a pair. Pretty cheap compared to the coilovers. Or just go hard and buy some STIFF springs. I prefer stiff springs, better on side hills, and better on uphill, too much flex is way over-rated. My hilux sidehills like a champion with no load on and super heavy springs. It is way pimp too.......NOT

the way i have found the easyest is to make up some dummy shockers like a piece of RHS with either a pin or eye or what ever at each corner set at the height you want to set your vehicle at
or make them for the bump/ compression and another set for rebound/ extension, to make sure the linkage actions, clearances etc are right
sure it wont be a nice ride on road, but it shouldn't be on the road until finished and thats what friends and trailers are for
