anyone know what mods need to be done to fit an internal reg alternator in place of an external reg one on a petrol hilux??

Why would you go to the trouble wouldnt it be cheaper to replace and externally regulated one

Would just be a matter of fiiting the alternator to the engine with whatever brackets you have to create, then to wire it just hook up the fat wire to the battery and find the dashlight wire that went to the old reg (Usually white with red trace) and hook it to the ind terminal on the new alt, some have a terminal that you have to feed 12v into as well

As above. The L terminal will be the Alt lamp on the dash. The S terminal is the sence input is used by the regulator to sence system voltage so it can regulate more accuratly. Some have an I terminal instead of the S. this is ignition and is used to turn on the reg. and is used to sence also...
