replaced rubber bushes in suspension-grease?

Hi all
as above put brand new rubber bushes for the leaf suspension including shakles in my Rocsta yesterday all 12 of them just in the front half of the 4x4 so far.
used a fair bit of normal automotive grease.(Nulon Xtreme performance grease)
done everything up tight

but now it squeaks heaps. its had lil ones here and there but it seems to squeak just to annoy me whenever i push or jump on the front etc.
i have a feeling its due to the grease i used.

Is there some special grease/lube your supposed to use for rubber applications such as this?
Or will the squeaks just disapear once the new bushes wear in?

if its squeaking where the shackle plate pushes up against the side of the rubber bush it may be done up a little to tight, also how much grease did u use in this area?? what sort of bushes were the old ones, rubber ive found tends to squeak more than the nylon neaphrene (sp?) sorta ones..

dont use grease with old school ruber it fucks them if you feel you must use grease use ruber grease. you only need to grease those shity nolathain things. if it squeaks its probly too tight some place and did you do every thing up when the car was on the ground? if not the bushes will shit them selves prety quick

Depending on the bushes - you should not use ordinary grease but that grey shit - molybdenum or whatever the manufacturer of the bushes specify.

Also do not grease the outside of the bush, only the inside and the end.

as to tightening them up on the ground, its only really an issue with bonded bushes, although it doesnt hurt to tighten them on the ground regardless.

Yup, the auto grease has probably already started attacking the rubber. Repco Red Rubber grease is the go, nowhere as messy as black moly grease. (jumping grease - sticks like #$@# to everything!!!!)

Make sure you check the tension on everything after about 500ks, particularly the u-bolts.

It could also be the spring packs squeaking. I would generally dismantle the packs and grease the leaves on a suspension overhaul.

Moly grease is still oil based and will kill rubber bushes too. Repco rubber grease is the go.
