Suzi swift GTI seats into Sierra
Suzi swift GTI seats into Sierra
Picked up some suzi swift gti seats today to put into my sierra. Ive done a fair bit of searching on the topic which is why i chose these seats as I know they have been done before. But what I want to know is actually how to go about putting the rails on the gti seats and how exactly you redrilled the holes for the rear? mounts. Or is it easier to bolt in the whole seat rail and all to the floor? From a quick measure of the passenger side it looks like the rails are 15" wide (bolt to bolt) on the sierra and 17" on the swift seats so how do you mount them? If anyone has any pics of how they mounted the rails to the gti seats or a description it would be much appreciated. thanks nev

Dunno mate, if you use the stock holes, and its all bolt in I don't see why not......but it was the least of my worries on mine when I was driving it on the road.....there were lots of unapproved and illegal mods on mine...Nev wrote:Also Twisty, do you know if its road legal to bolt them straight to the floor? Yours is just a trailered car isnt it? thanks
It got too scary on the road in the end, and is now just a trailered rig.

My wifes car is a 96 swift Gti and the seats are hardly any better than the Sierra originals. IMO.
There are a shipload of really nice seats in the wreckers, they just take a bit of imagination to fit them.
I used Toy MR2 seats, nice and narrow and the drivers seat has all the adjustments.

It's better to have LIVED for a day than to have EXISTED for a hundred years.
Best of luck Chunks- Falcon seats are a fair bit bigger than sierra seats. tHe other issue is with the floor arrangment on the drivers side - the cross brace means that the runners/mounts have to have a fairly low profile or the seat will be too high.
I have seen a car where the cross brace was entirely removed and the replacement seates were tekscrewed into the floor, but it might be better not to talk about that!
I reckon the swift GTI seats are pretty good, but agree that many wreckers will stock sporty seats pulled from various imports that suilt quite well too.
My soon to be commenced new build is getting a pair if Sparco sprint race seats that I have just removed from my Gwagen. These are a pretty snug fit - the shoulder support only just misses the window glass.
