How to raise a zook.. ??

Post by DrCarlo »

I was after some tips and ideas on the best way to get more height out of my zook.

I want to be able to do beach work (stock can do it) bush bashing (nothing to crazy) and safe highway driving (its my daily driver).

So what are my options for getting more height out of my sierra (92 model)

I am trying to keep the cost down for the moment.. Budget is about $1000 bucks.

Suzisport 2inch lift kit for $750
I can get a CALMINI 3inch lift kit for $1200
overkill suggested spring over conversion for $2000

Will a lift kit like the calmini make the car

a. Dangerous on freeway etc
b. handle worse than it does now? (stock)

I respect that it will have a higher centre of gravity.

Any advice would be great.

edit.

I did search the forums. But there is alot of different threads which say different things. And no one really speaks about the handling change in the car.

closest if found was this.

That was on the cards too.

Just found I was grinding over things which it would be nice to drive over.

also on standard suspension how far could I go with tyres.

Since we don't know where you are, we don't know whether spring over is legal in your state, here in queensland it's a no-no. What I'm going to do is a 2" spring lift and 2" body. This gives the chassis a bit of a lift and also allow the tyres clearance assuming you intend to run 31's (which are illegal in qld as well but everyone does it)

Im in NSW..

I suppose my main goal is to run bigger tyres, and have some more room to get over things.

If a body lift means I can get over things a little better, but more important run bigger tyres then I am cheering.
