Bushy you may be interested to know that I saw a blue one around christmas time in the Bayswater area in Vic. Registered "RANGEE"?

I know of a Bushy trayback comp truck that will be for sale in June.
Green in colour.
Rover 3.9 stroked to 5.0 litre.
Maxi drives front and rear.
4.1 diffs.
36x12.5x15 Simex tryes.
2 fuel tanks, 180 litres.
5 speed manual.
Warn 8000lb high mount winch with plasma.
Dual koni's front and rear.
Triple battery system.
GPS system.
Half doors with zip up inserts (similar to Jeep style)
6 point cage.
Full harnesses.
Rego (GRIFFO) not transferable.

Hmmm sounds like your old comp truck Laurie ... you giving the comps away? You may not remember me but I had a red/white and blue Rangie Wagon and competed against you around Feb 2003 at Landcruiser Mountain Park ... I'm the one who rolled over backwards ..
Then I repaired it making it into a ute .. so it went from rooted to uted

I do remember your Rangie, well the rollover in particular.
Yes it is the comp truck you recall and this will be my last year as I just don't find the time due to business commitments and the rest of my time is taken up with my interest in classic cars these days.
I will do one more OBC and then repair the truck and put it up for sale, price, have not decided yet.

Yes Andrew I have been saying it for a while now.
When I consider that last year the only event I did was the OBC and this year as it is going at the moment the OBC is the only event I will have time to do it seems a waste to rebuild the truck after the OBC and it sits in the shed for 6 months, so I think this year will be it.
You are correct. I will definately miss the the comp side of things.
Having said that there are a couple of us from the T4 Club who have been toying with the idea of getting involved with Offroad Motor Racing ( Centre Trek 750) comes to mind, but that requires a different type of truck.
We'll see.

I remember seeing that at the start of that event, I seem to recall it was red and white in colour and it was after seeing that truck I decided one day I would get.
Re modifying the Bushie I have now is probably the way to go as a few others have said the same to me, I will make my mind up after this years OBC.
When you're packing your truck for the OBC this year, remember the track rod ends! There wont be an Ibex in your team to come to the rescue!!!

Mate once again thanks for the loan of those tie rod ends, this year I have 4 spare ones, but you the know story, now I've got spares I won't need them.
This will be my 8th OBC and my last , thinking of trying something different and my business is keeping me pretty busy these days.
How have you been coping with the cold over there, bloody strange weather in OZ at the moment.
The weather is pretty strange over here too, was in a T-shirt yesterday when should have been ski-ing this time of year. Supposedly -20 is on the way but I have my doubts so far. All the best on your last OBC mate.
Ah that takes me back... Did the OZ safari in '92 as co driver in an auto Rangie, won our class and second in National class to a blown B2600...Drove the vehicle from Perth to Sydney, did the event, then drove back to Perth from Darwin.
Those were the days...
