LPG Disco - Leads
I noted that a while back someone suggested the NGK BP6RES spark plugs with a gap of 0.7mm. Cool. But I have had some recent backfire trouble (one new airbox coming up) and wondered if anyone can recommend any leads over any others because the leads are obviously just as important.
Take me to the Bush!
If you are in Melbourne, I've gotta recommend the leads that my mates work makes. They're called Gasmaster, and they are spiral wound stainless steel core - which means that they should never break down like silicon core leads. They have been designed and developed with gas cars in mind, and they can make them up in 8, 9 and 10mm, with colours that include black, red, green and blue. A set will set you back around $80 from memory, but you should never have to replace the leads again. As a reference, I had an 81 model Alfa Romeo which comes with copper cored leads from the factory. It still had the original leads, and no misfires. The only thing was that they got a little corroded inside the plugs on the end, but stainless steel shouldn't do this.
The workshop is called Regent Street Motors and Gas Conversions, in Regent street in Oakleigh, and the number is 0395 631 345.
FWIW though, leads won't necessary fix a backfiring problem on gas..... There are many possible causes.
