ute body on short wheelbase chassie
ute body on short wheelbase chassie
hey just wanting to know has anyone done this, and how hard is it to get registered? any info will be great thanx.

here are some pics of one that was in our club awhile back. As everyone has said you will run into problems with tyres fouling on the corner of the cab. Getting it registered shouldn't be a drama I wouldn't think. I'd chop down a soft top body and use one of the fibreglass cab backs and roofs like on the maruti lwb utes.

thanx guys, iv already got a ute body lined up but the guy dosent know how much he wants for it! and im not telling him there hard to find, so ill get it a bit cheaper
And as i dont have a big budget, this is going to be a long term project
( so that counts out 3/4 elliptic and rear coils ideas for now .
So far i have everything i need minus a body.

3/4 eliptic is dirt cheap on a zuk. I used spare springs cut it about 3" past te flat spot then attached it too the frame with trailer ubolts. Then just grind the shackle mount off the frame. Took about 1 hour to do and about $20. Had it on the car for about 6 years and never had a problem

No worries .. didnt mean to tread on your toes ..
I think that they were 32x9.5s ... has been 3 or so years since I saw this truck .. It is actually a ute body on a swb chassis from memory all the body mounts line up ..

Try 255/85x16", mine measure 34 diameter and about 9.5 inch across the tread. I think they're the replacement for the old 9.00x16.
