wiring up alarm and central locking etc
I need a bit of electrical help I have the equivalent of electrical down syndrome I think but thought I should learn so I'm tackling my alarm/ central locking install at home Its one of the jaycar kits and I've got the locking in and working Now the alarm with all the wires
The wiring diagram is in the image I attached and I hope someone can help with a few questions.
*Where the hell do I connect the orange wire that's meant to go to the foot brake switch and why
*The two brown wires that go to the indicators... how do I connect them???
won't the wires already be a part of a circuit at the lights... how do I tap into it???
*The negative trigger on the door... what is that??? (blue wire)
*The engine power out circuit... does that connect to the starter motor coil??? I don't know what they mean by 'hight coil'
Sorry if these questions seem really basic and stupid to some of you I hope you got a chuckle out tof them I spose but any help would be great!! I'm learning heaps doing it myself its good

Engine Power out Circuit I think is for the immobiliser system. i dont understands petrols but on a diesel i would connect this wire to the fuel cut out solonoid
2 brown wires that go to the indicators one (left) (right) If the alarm is activated the indicators would flash. Just a feature
Foot brake Sorry i cant help, dont understand why????
Negetive trigger (DOOR) Sorry again cant help
To tap into wires just simply cut the the positive wire(s) that enters into whatever you want it to connect to. Strip the insulator about 10mm, And then simply joining the wires again using a block connector. This Method here i don not like cause its not fool proof and looks ugly
I prefer to cut the wires, strip them about 20mm and join them with solder and shrink wrap to tidy it all up

Brake switch wiring (my bet) would be for some sort of automated door locking when driving. ie. an anti hijack type feature where it locks the doors when the engine is running the first time the brake pedal is touched. It would then unlock them when the ignition is turned off.
Find one of your door switches and wire the negative door trigger to that.
The two wires for the indicators are one for the left side, the other for the right. Tap into the positive indicator wires. Best place (inside the car) is usually the back of the hazard light switch.

what sort of car aer ya fitting the alarm to ,is it petrol or deisel , the neg door switch you may just have to run a single wire to the door switch .the brake switch is wire is connected to the output side of ya brake switch,to check use a test light find the power and connect wire to other side of switch,its easier to pull of ya steering colum cover and connect ya indicators up near ya ind switch.not sure on power out till i know what ya have
The negative door trigger should be the trigger switch that turns your interior light on when you open the door. It is only an earth switch. So you will obviously be earthing something for a trigger. It will have a single wire going to it, just tap into that.
The foot brake switch you will usually find to the top of the foot brake arm. It will most probobly be a micro switch with 2 wires on the back of it, when you press the brake the centre of the switch comes out and makes the contact. Use a tester light to determine which wire powers up when the brake is depressed and use that one.

alright got the acc wired up thanks guys The foot brake switch and indicators are sorted too (going to wire them now)
This immobiliser bit is a prick though
I (think) I've located 12v going to my ignition coil and am going to wire the relay switch in there. There is
*yellow which joins to the main alarm unit
*white I don't know where it goes
*2 green wires I don't know which way they go
Have a look at the image I posted in the first post and you'll see the diagram for the switch. What is "KEY ON" The white and the green both attach to this KEY ON thing

ie. the +12V ignition supply line to the coil or whatever you are disabling via the immobiliser relay.

The immobiliser I'm going to pay an auto elec to do because I can't figure out which wire is carrying 12v to the coil. I have a gregory's manual with full wiring diagrams and I can trace most wires all around the car.........
except the ones connecting ignition/ coil are completely different colours to the wiring diagrams I don't get that???

It also might be confusing if it's a coil + resistor setup. But really, it should be pretty easy to work out what's what; there are only a couple of wires at the coil and one goes from no voltage to +12V when the ignition is on - that's the one you want to interrupt with the alarm.
Just remember not to do the connection in plain view or it's pretty easy to hotwire.

fair point there murcod. Can you (or anyone) suggest a good point to immobilise then Bear in mind I'm reasonably sure the alarm unit needs to get a signal from the ignition wire where the immobiliser is meant to go
Let me explain. The alarm has a safety feature where if you open the doors with the engine running the hazards come on. At the moment its not receiving any ignition signal from the engine (cause the immobliser is on my desk ) so it doesn't know if the ignition is on or off and EVERY time I open the door the hazards come on
My solution so far was to disconnect the door trigger..... now it doesn't know the door is open so the hazards do not come on
When the immobiliser is wired in then I can plug the door trigger back in and it'll function properly. Does that make sense
So I would have to wire the immobiliser into the coil right.... or something else doing the +12v thing with the ignition on. What else could I use there???? starter???? other????

The power thing you mentioned won't be a problem. You just need to isolate the item on the ign power supply side, not the earth side.
