anyone improved their front disc brake rotors? what brand? what type of brake pads? how much?
I had Kerry at Better Brakes in Cheltenham slot some rotors for me. Also made up braided lines. You can also get your pads redone with different materials if you want. Another option you may want to look into is seeing if the discs and calipers off a lwb Vit will work as they are vented too. i know the Sierra and swb Vit brakes are pretty similar and this is a nice upgrade for the swb Vit.

I pulled my tyres off and found my car had vented rotors, however when trying to buy replacements found that they where not standard.
now my calipers look stock. Do you have to use the vitara calipers or is it possible my cars just got the rotors on it. (just trying to figure out if they are from a vitara so I can replace them.)
Sorry for the hijack

Insert witty comment here..
If you wanted even more and have 16" rims then the discs and calipers from the widetrack Vits are even bigger. They are the same size as the GV V6 but spaced differently from the mounting surface to suit the Vit. The lwb Vit rear drums are bigger too.

out of interest got a quote of $250 for slotted rotors and a set of pads www.dprdirect.com.au
my next question is do the vented discs and calipers bolt straight onto a sierra? if so this would be a great way of improving a sierra's braking ability for bigger tyres. would then re-use the stock sierra brakes for a rear disc conversion.

Urm. yeah it was obvious. I dont know why I asked.. *slaps head*BenT wrote:Well I thought that would have been obvious, but the larger caliper (bottom), and the larger pad (right) are from a 4 door vit with vented discs, while the other are stock 413'sDrCarlo wrote:which ones which??
