The Am-Steel Blue rope is a good product. We use the 11mm (3/8") for winch comps and are very happy with the way it performs. It has a waxy "protective" coating on it which can cause it to stick to the layers below and sometimes get sucked back into the winch when freespooling, so need to keep tension on the line. Thats the only down side we've found.
Their marketing blurb says it will reach it's maximum loading 40% times more than the Plasma brand rope before failure. The guy who supplies us also supplies it to most ports in NZ (barging and shipping etc) and is adamant its the best rope to use.
It should be available from any Sampson Rope distributer.

Nice.
So you got the one with the two different ropes spliced together?
The fire line on the winch drum and the standard for the rest.
PS Nice carpet
looks like a classy place.

Yep got the fireline option, will see how well it spools up on the winch tomorrow.

New rope is on, fits great except for the rope protector. I might make a new one as it's just too bulky.
