warn 9000 help

Post by dansTOYOwagon »

I have searched and searched, and been through the bibles, but can't appear to find my exact problem.

Freind has a warn 9000 that works sometimes, but other times it seams to "free spin".... the motor turns, but not the drum.

The other day we were winding the cable on, and it just started free spinning. Pulled it off, pulled it apart, put it back together... all fine.

On weekend, pulled a car up some rocks, and then once the load was off the cable, it wouldn't wind in, motor was spinning, but not the drum.

What do you think is the prob ?!

Thanks, Dan

I would be looking closley at your gear selection lever as it sounds to me like it is worn at the bottom end where it inserts into to gear housing and allowing the outer gear ring to disengage.
