Hello all, this is my first posting to this web site, I hope that you guys will accept me with my little Toyota Hilux that I have, you may be interested to know that here in South Africa, there are also people who take their 4x4's seriously, they are not scared of spending a few $$$$$ on the various mods that are available for these type of vehicles.
I do not wish to boast too much about my vehicle, it is not much to look at, but the bottom line is, It is a Hilux.

Hello from South Africa Queenstown
Just a Toyota Hilux 4x4 with a few mods, nothing too extreme.
from what i hear, South Africa has a few people with money, I knew a guy who worked at the Telephone company, and he owned a Shelby Cobra replica, with a 351 Cleveland V8, and he used to race his brother who had a BMW M3. 'Tis a pity the wealth isn't spread out amongst more people, only a select few have any, from what he tells me.

Hello to you all, thankyou for the replys, I want to just say before I tell you about my Hilux that I do not want to be known as if I am boasting too much about my vehicle, yes I have and am still spending lots of money on it, it does have a few extra mods as well, I have posted a photo of it, remember now that not many vehicles would get onto this rock if they were standard, thus my vehicle is no longer a standard Toyota Hilux.

The following few photo's I am sure you will enjoy, this one below was taken from high above Queenstown on a mountain called Mount Shepston, each winter this mountain is covered in snow, the person on the left in the photo is my "Godfather" Ronny.
Then this is me in this photo, these revolver shackles Ronny and I bought from Superiorengineering which is in Australia, we bought three pairs, we fitted one pair to my Hilux, friends please do not run away when you see this photo of myself

I sent a letter to Bridgestone here in South Africa, basically telling them that I am giving them the oppertunity to have their tyres on my vehicle, thus they took up my offer and we fitted these Bridgestone Mud Terrains the size is 33" x 1250 x 15" fitted on 10 J rims, I had to buy the rims from America, I was alos given four All Terrain tyres in the same size thus I bought the same 10 J rims for thise tyres, thus I altinate the tyres for the terrain that I intend driving.
Another photo of myself working on the front axle, this is when we overhauled the front axle completely, no half measures were done, all wheels bearings, swivel hub bearings, seals, O'rings were replaced, an ARB Locker was fitted as well and the crownwheel and pinion were also ceramic coated, the crownwheel and pinion were also a new match set.
This photo above was taken at home in Ronny's garage, we have a few nice tools that make the various mods so much easier when we work on our private vehicles only.
The photo below is of my Hilux, check out the articulation of this vehicle and the name that I call it. Friends I have many photo's of the various 4x4 vehicles that Ronny and I own, but will keep the Hilux's here and post the other 4x4 vehicles under the Nissan and the Colt and the Jeep sections of the forum.
