W.E.ROCK World Championships, Las Vegas, NV. USA

Post by Lil' Rich »

Ok so I just wanted to give everyone an update on the outlook of the 2006 World Championships (WC's). As of right now we have great confirmations from the following countries:

USA (18 teams)
OZ (6 teams maybe more)
Mexico (6 Teams, All three classes)
Canada (8 Teams, Three classes)
Japan (1 Team, Limited)
France (1 Team, Unlimited)
Norway (2 Teams, Unlimited, Limited)
Brazil (1, maybe 2 teams)

I think that is a great turnout with being so far away from the event. Look forward to seeing you Poofters on the rocks :D

The teams from Mexico and Canada would be very well set up, some do compete in the werock and calroc events already. The other countries like japan, brasil and norway have slightly different styles. However they would still be very competitive here in OZ.

You will find that most of the other countries (like Japan and Norway) would not be nessesaryily coming over to win, more so for the experience and to learn about how the other countries do it and also to create the first ever "True" world Championships!!!!

Pretty cool!

LOL, I have been in the wheelin scene here for the last 5-6 years. and I am only 21. If you act like you belong there, thn 90% of the time they will just let you in. Plus there are places like open bars at the casinos where you can't get carded unless you make an ass out of yourself. I have perfected the under age drinking here in the US, lol.

AS far as spectators, Imagine a rock crawl in a stadium, with seats, tons of vendors, and all sorts of shit to do. Now add that with a VIP Pass into the pits and a few for the courses, and you have yourself one hell of a good time. VIP passes would go to W.E.ROCK Teams world wide. Whether they compete or not. Just got to show proof of competing.

I'll wait and see how things pan out but would definatly be interested in going over even to spectate. Did a quick search for anyone interested & looking at 2G minimum. Could possibly get a group buy happening with flight center or such and get a better deal....

I have been looking at flights, but looking more at round the world flights so I can stop over in japan and england to see friends and relies. Seems to be only a couple hundred extra to get a round the world ticket rather than just Las Vegas.

We would love to have judges from other countries, but we won't be able to help pay for any travel expenses.

And Pyrotech, can you send me a few mags too? I would love to have a few for our files.

I can't reply on how the lawsuit is going, but what I can say is that we are going to run our 2006 year like nothing ever happened. And so far it is the best year we have had to date. Our First event, April 7-9, will be amazing.

We are shutting down two blocks of Downtown Globe (the town the event is in) for a Street Party and Fair.

We are introducing classes at each event to help teams pull in more sponsors.

And we are having one hell of a Party/pub crawl on our tech and registration day.

It's gonna be a blast.
