'83 4door - good buy?

Post by shakes »

lookin at buyin a 83 4door off a mates dad as a base for eventually a (hopefully)comp level truck
$1500 dead stock body and interior are immaculate 3.5l carby, 4spd and a dash covered in gauges.

someone has also mentioned to me somewhere along the lines these are the best 3.5's to work?

It will get maxidrives and better ratios, just wonderin if there's anything I should look at in particular.

Cheers

Simon

(i know this is probably a Tonka but i done a few searchs and couldn't find specifics)

You can fix/replace just about anything (and you probably will) so the main thing to look for is rust, especially along door sills and front floor pan.
Thanks,

Adam
