Height of GQ coil cab drivers

Post by Guy »

Look like buying a house, that will need extensive works, so I will need a decent ute, and the old dudlux is for sale sooo ..

With about 10K in my pocket would I get a half way decent GQ coil cab .. and then would I fit in it at about 190cm tall (bout 6 foot 3 in the old money)

It would be my daily driver getting around 800Kms a week on the clock, so it would have to be comfortable for a decent time behind the wheel.

you got choices of 3 cabs I do believe - no bubble, half bubble and full bubble

all have f-all leg room, but wth a full bubble you have the luxury of being able to squeeze not a lot behind your seat

I'm 6'5 and fit uncomfortably in a full bubble cab

i have an extra cab and at full back on the seats i can't reach the pedals and i'm 5'11". i mounted them further back on the rails as i saw little point in having the seats comfortable for me at full back like they were factory, and go so far foward an anorexic couldn't fit between the wheel and seat back!

I think an Xtra cab is the way to go. Converting a wagon to an Xtra cab may even be cheaper than purchasing a ute, depending on how much you do yourself. Wagons can be found very cheaply these days.

I had a coil cab ute and found it uncomfortably small. Others who are much bigger than me dont seem to be bothered. I'm 5'10 and 75 kgs. However this was after owning a GQ wagon and I missed being able to recline the seat etc. It all depends what you're used to. Try one and see what you think. I sold my ute for under 11k but this was a good deal (for the buyer)
