whats the best material to make stronger rear lower control arms for a GQ LWB ???

mate steel and heavy wall like 5mm or so, big enough, yet still fitting the width of the bush.
s/steel stress cracks but is far tougher then steel in deformation, stretching - tensile etc i would not use it and i am obsessed with the stuff!
alloys of steel fir somwhere between mild and s/steel in terms of cracking etc, and unless youy plan to tig stay off the chromoly
i have a set of h/d ones in the forsale section
