02 hilux price

Post by daveo »

gday

firstly, mods feel free tomove this to chit chat if necessiary

my little bro is looking at getting a 02 dualcab SR5 3.0td hilux, style side, 46000km, alloy bar, ipf spots, arb smart solenoid, safari snorkel, gme tx 3400, serviced every 5000km (apparently), metallic silver, erps (5 couplers - enough??), alloy side steps and ladder racks, tray liner, tonneau cover, cooper AT. the dude selling it is pretty clueless. has done the cape and a few other trips. he just had the lower 3rd and 4th leaves replaced in the rear cause he couldnt work out what was squeaking. (told u he was a bit clueless)

i had a drive and compared to my 98 non turbo 3.0 lux theres a few thigs that i noticed. firstly the gearbox seems a fair bit more notchy than mine. i know that they have different boxes (mines a g52, i think the turbos have a r151) and he reckons that its been like that for ever. ive never driven a turbo lux before soo can only compare to mine and a mates which is the same as mine. its really notchy into 1st, 2nd, not as bad into 3rd and 4th. the brakes seem quite a bit softer than mine and the clutch linkages squeak but thats no big issue. underneath no apparent fluid leaks from box or diffs, has clouted afew rocks with the bashplate at the front and below tcase. exterior paint and interior are in vgc.

what do you think price wise and what about the gearbox?
hes asking $34000 with 6mth rego
i reckon providing the box is sweet its a good buy.

cheers, dave and daves little bro
