4WD The Victorian High Country 23rd April - 28th April 06...(6 days)
This trip is the brainchild of Mick Whitehead and with the help of others has come about to raise money for charity....this year being the Northcott Soc. / for wheelchairs.
Basically a tag-a-long and fun trip with group leader and sweep vehicle in each group.
To join in all you'll need a std. 4wd with recommended good condition All Terrain tyres and basic recovery gear.
You will have to be self sufficient with camping gear, food, warm clothing suitable for changeable conditions in the mountains.
Donation per vehicle is....$1,000 all of which goes directly to the charity...Northcott.
Mick is looking at having 100 vehicles which will be split into 10 groups, each doing a different route but possibly joining up some nights and camping o/n together along the way.
A good opportunity to see some amazing countryside with a like minded group of 4wdrivers and have a good fun social time.
You can fill your 4bee with family or mates.........but not your animals.
For more info check out a recent issue of OVERLANDER mag or go into any ARB or Mickey Thompson/Cooper Tyres Dealer....all sponsors.
Call Chris Bates 0417 229 973
orl Mick Whitehead on 0417 278 105
BUT hurry cos places are filling up........

Join the Tallarook Roundup after Drive4Life finishes!
The Drive4Life finishes on Friday the 28th at Harrietville so why not go along and join in at the THE TALLAROOK 4X4 ROUNDUP 29-30 APRIL, 2006
For those of you with some time to spare, there is an event taking place in Tallarook on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 April 2006.
Tallarook is located just south of Seymour on the Hume Highway, about 3 hours drive from Harrietville.
The Tallarook 4X4 RoundUp has the potential to gain national significance. The concept is to set a world record for the greatest number of 4X4's in the one location, so the RoundUp weekend will become synonymous with Tallarook.
The first event is scheduled for the 29th and 30th April 2006. This 2 day annual event will attract huge numbers of visitors to the region. They are organising a fabulous program of 4X4 associated activities and entertainment based around a traditional rural Australian theme, which includes but will not be limited to:
• The 4X4 RoundUp Record Count and Category competitions
• 4X4 Driving Club demonstrations
• Demonstration tracks available for vehicle manufacturers
• Demonstrations by 4X4 Victoria
• Challenge Vehicles
• Rock Crawling
• Trade Show and Product displays
• Camping
• Campdrafting, Cutting & Reining display
• Annual CFA Bush Dance
• Stars under the Stars
• Battle of the Bands, great local music
• Farmer Market
• Food and beverage stalls
• Animal Nursery, Pony Rides, Camel Rides
• Whip crackers, Story Telling and Poetry
• Woodchop competition
• Chainsaw wood carving demonstration
• Working sheepdogs
• Shearing demonstrations
• Rural skills exhibitions
• Cooking, Arts, Crafts & Photo show
• Promotion of the Tallarook Ranges
Proceeds from the RoundUp are to be distributed throughout the Tallarook community with the CFA being the major beneficiary. They want to ensure that the foundations for this event are solid to ensure longevity for the Tallarook 4X4 RoundUp.
If you are interested in attending, you can contact the organizer Angela Warren on (03) 5792 1304 or 0427 921 304. Whilst prior contact is not imperative, it will give Angela an idea of numbers attending.
