Hi roly, the Bilstein struts have pre cut grooves,
should be able to handle upto 4" lift out of them.

Well i got it guys!
My brand new Xtra Cab T/D :)

I am sooo wrapped in it. It has sooo much power and can't fault it in any way.

Got a few bits put on it too (u can read about it at the bottom of post)

Can't wait to get it out in the outback, climbing hills and crossing creeks etc.
Have been reading heaps of 4x4 mags and have picked up a few driving tips from them (this is my first 4by)

Will post some pics when it can. Everyone is drooling ... including me ;)

Thanks xrdave :)

I went for the SR rather than the SR5. To me the SR5's extra bits didn't really turn me. There was quite a big price difference as well so i saved that for my extras ;)
Would like the powered mirrors though.

When i signed the contract (2 months ago) there was a silver duel cab in the show room waiting to be picked up with all the extras that i wanted on it. I took one look and said "Yep, i want that colour!"

Want to put up some pics but don't know how to reduce the image size. What's a good image size to post and how do i do it?

Hey Cranker
Silver is a great colour. Silver was the colour i was going toget,
but i couldn't take eyes off the blue demo thay had siting in the
doorway of the showroom, so blue it had to be.(Bishop blue)
Did you get the hilux from Pacific Toyota Cairns.

The size i use is 640x480 pixels and, or under 256kb insize.

Yep gotta love silver. Also saw a blue demo which is an awesome colour. Only available on the SR5 though

Yep went and saw Pacific Toyota. Test drove a Lux and worked out what extras i wanted. Told them i was paying cash and wanted a good deal. The pricks wouldn't move one cent off retail. I thought "this is really strange" and "stuff these w#nkers!"
Rang all dealers in 300k radius as well as a heap in Brisvegas and started sifting through those who would help ... and the 'others'.
Best prices were coming from Brisbane (of course) but i thought i would give pacific a go again.
Went a saw another sales guy who was the nicest and most helpful person i've met and ended up scoring the Lux at 8000 off the retail price. That was cheaper than the '05 runouts and it's an '06 :?
Yeah they beat everyones price so i'm really happy to go local.

Damn! Looking at your pics and u guys really look organised. All i have is a 3 man tent, a 60L Engal and a torch
Will have to get some 'real' camping gear.

How do u reduce your image size of your pics?

I use a basic programe- Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
If you can't resize them Email me the pics.

I tore the rubber boot off the drivers side CV joint, about 130kms
north of Cooktown on the Starcke track made a temp boot from
my swag bag. Rang Motorama they said there was none in the country,
and there would be a 2-4 week wait for the rubber boot.
1 week later they rang me and said it had arrived. Had it sent to Pacific
Toyota Cairns. The Service Department guys were great- Robert Harvery.
The guys got the job done.
Just remember Seek and you shall find.

I ordered the Petrol Hilux, just my choice anyway. and hope the milage is not to bad :D

Biggest problem is new tyres. I have got over the fact of getting new Alloy rims and will just upgrade the tyres to an A/T style .

I liked the BFG's and all the good reports about them.

And priced some Cooper ATR's 265/70/15 which look good and should be OK.

Question----is there a real drama going up in a size for Fuel and or Speedo problems ?

The dude i got a quote for the Coopers said i would get better fuel milage with the 265's instead of the 255's .

I've got the V6 and am very surprised how good the fuel milage, is around town 11.7 L/100 with 11500kms on the clock not sure on the highway.

Cant comment on the tyres YET! I'm going to go for 31's when i get financial approval from the boss :D

The trouble with ARB is thay don't sell gear that people want.
If thay produced a Sahara Bar for the hilux thay would sell them buy the truck load.
