Can i get this engineered

Post by benhl »

Well not actually me........ My cousin has a GQ wagon with 4" spring lift (no BL), all 4wd shop bought (ie kit type, superior and snake etc) extended control arms, castor correction plates, strengthened steering links etc etc etc and 35" simex's.

He also has custom 4" barwork all round, cut rear qtr panels, and repainted in commodore hot house green!! Sweet Truck.

Question is: Can this be engineered in QLD??? and where should he go (any patrol specific engineers??) He is looking to sell the vehicle at the redlands 4x4 show this month and wants to get it all legit before listing.

Anyone interested PM me for pics and info. i will post in For sale section when completely finisehed or see at the show.
GU 4.2 TD Garrett BB Hi-flow, M8274 + Bells & Whistles with plenty of fruit still on the list!

Ring DOT..... You may need to drop all the modds off, and then get each bit assessed and approved. One thing will be the replacement suspension parts (panhards, etc), unless they are engineered and approved for fitment by DOT, forget it.

The second problem will be proving the 1/3rd bump stop rule.

The only way to sell it legally with rego would be with a Safety Certificate. Ask around and see if someone will give a RWC for it, then sell it. Or sell wthout rego, and the buyers deals with it.....

I could supply some stock springs and tyres cheap - then he can sell it.

You're better off trying to find a wood-duck to buy it.

I just decided to stay in NSW as well for my rego, GQ with 7" coils, 2" BL, 35s etc and the cops up here actually have given me the thumbs up twice.

I will be at the Redlands show this month too, so get along and support Kidney Australia.
