80 Series transfer jumping out of low range 4.5 auto

Post by Red Rover »

Changed transfer cases and put part time kit in. Tested it today and it now jumps out of low range. Anyone shed any light on this. I can only think of the rod adjustment. Why it would need it with identical transfer cases I don't know.

Also is there an easier way of adusting it without dropping the cross member down?

Thanks

The red bearing part in the pic. I think if you move that shaft too far that the detent ball can fall out which may be causing it to jump out. Hopefully someone else can confirm this or tell me that i'm dreaming :D
