Not real comfy!
went for a quick run about 20 mins away test the new tyres this morning, driving a line high on the ruts, and the back slipped in, had some very unnerving angles, couldnt go back, definitely on its side, but mates troopy had a winch and ended up getting him out. it sure was sweaty in the little jabber there for a bit, photos so dont do it justice, but anyways,

hahaha always scarier when ur in the car, but still was a scary one. hate the side angles in the shorties, if theres one there to be found they always find them. i wish there was a way to drive it til its on its roof and then youd know. so do you mean uv put it on its side NJ? im sure everyone in the shorty knows the feeling. this one just if i went forward or backward raised about another foot, in none of the photos does it show it how bad it was. i couldve pushed it over with one hand for sure. wasnt so much where i was more when i tried to go forwards or backwards it got worse. HATE THOSE ANGLES but hes still goin, and the tyres went pretty well thanks scott

No, didn't flop, but know the pucker feeling when up like that. Some of the pics make it look worse than it is, but if you think about where the COG is (think engine/trans/transfer) and where it has to be before you flop, most "bad" positions aren't that bad.
I didn't have the locker back then, and never got back with it. I reckon front locker would have pulled through without a problem - possibly even reduced tyre pressures would have helped.
Next time...

Hey Klrevo... looks good with the new feet there mate. It feels dodgy at those kind of angles ay. Like NJ SWB said, you should drop the pressure in your tyres down when wheelin. I run about 18-20psi in my muddies when wheelin. The difference it makes in traction is huge... and helps save your tyres from tears etc as well!
man i run my mt/r's on 10 psi when i'm out, makes a huge difference. (havent rolled the bead yet, but did with the AT's) rembeber the angles i was on up at slippery rock road? i feel your pain and just to boast a bit, i drove slippery rock road unlocked and on all terrains! took a bit but did it

pressures
thanks guys but those were at 18psi, i was running the JT2s at 6-8psi on the same tracks, but those were let down, ill be running them lower than that next time but for sure. yeh i remember those angles dan and your face but yeh as i said, the pics are of it stationary, it was when i tried to get out that it raised another foot or so, and that was with my mate on the bullbar. But yeh definitely scott, when you think about it, and look at the pics and imagine where the engine is and gearbox and tranny it definitely doesnt make sense that they get so high in the first place. Good times but, and got out easy as, definitely time for lockers and i can get a winch cheap what u guys rekon? but im still hangin for the day where i can put him on his side, rewind and try again....
