SEA FOAM MOTOR TREATMENT?

Well my lexus V8 sh!t itself a couple weeks ago, which most likely started from when I cooked it late last year when the thermo fan blew a fuse while towing the zook out to LCMP.

Anyway, I picked up a new V8 yesterday for $900 and will be putting it in this weekend....I ran some injector cleaner through the last motor when I first got it running and am planning to do the same to the new one....

While on the Yotatech forum there was a thread about Seafoam Motor Treatment, which cleans injectors, can be sucked it through a vacum line to clean your valves, and can also be added to you oil to clean up in there. They all seem to give it the thumbs up on Yotatech! I've never seen it around here, so thought I'd check if you can get it in Oz, and what its like?

How hot did it get Dave? I've boiled mine a few times so far hehehe through trial and error. Still seems to go strong and smooth as ever touch wood.

Not 100% sure Bryan....the gauge didn't even get close to the red....only just past halfway....yet it was boiling its arse off.....that was back in the beginning of Nov and it been fine both cooling wise (did Fraser Island for New Years) and power wise up until I pulled it to bits last week.

INteresting, mine has touched the red twice I think. Having said that, it wouldn't boil untill that point. Though I have been running Glycol

Oh, and my bad overheating problem last week turned out to be a case of 50ml of coolant in the bleed point on top of the thermostat. I couldn't believe it either

Good oil forum and it is highly recommended on there.
Haven't seen it in Aus though.
You could also get this done for your oil:

and then use Cost Effective Maintenance (CEM) or Nulon fuel additive.

Good stuff seafoam for a multitude of purposes, look up the MSDS for the recipe. I make my own cocktail.

Anyone who services boat motors should be able to sell you something similar,I can't say there was any improvement in mine. I removed the connector from the intake to the air cleaner and sqirted some in,check where your air mass sensor is you want to be downstream.
Some prenium fuel and a belt down the highway is probably just as good.
