5.29s with 35s (mtrs)

Post by krawlr »

hi guys i own a hilux surf (1kz-te,auto).

im currently running 33 inch mtrs and 4.88 gearing.im wanting to move up to 35s with 5.29 gears, the current setup with the 4.88s and 33s is low,but not low enough for real steep decents.

will running 35s and 5.29 change my highway speed much :?: and will it give me good low gearing for steep decents with the auto box :?:

there must be some good knowledge on this site from people who have done it and can sheer some light on the subject.

many thanks dudes :)

By going from 33z to 35z, you are making your gearing higher by 6% (35/33). By going from 4.88 to 5.29 diffs you are lowering your gearing by 8.4% (5.29/4.88). So once you take off the difference, your gearing will be 2.4% lower than what it is now. That is, you won't notice the change!
