Hey,
i am able to get hold of a cracked 1.6 vitara block cheep
how much a pain is it and what is the best way to weld it up. apparently common with the vit blocks to happen.

Alloy block as well. got a mate that could weld it probably, going to see during week, see what he says.
Think it is only cracked on the outerblock, poss the waterjacket areas.

easiest way to weld cast / hardened steel is by using stainless rods
just a little left of insanity :)
1.6 are ally blocks, the problem with welding them is the contamination in the alloy, and there wouldnt be any guarantee that it wouldnt crack again. just got to petes and have a looksee at how many cracked blocks there are especially the welded ones, its really not worth the hassle.

if ur gonna do it properly get a half decent tig machine with stain less rods, turrn the ampres down as far as you can, in relation to penertration of course
. Watch for weld contamination from oils, as said above tricky if u don't no what ur doing
