Im looking at a 1996 Grand Cherokee ZG Laredo at the moment and it has very low km's (135,000), and the car is in excellent condition on the inside and out. I was wondering what would be problems that i might have to watch for in these particular cars? and if so how do i look for them?
Thanks

There are quite a few probs with the ZG grand - presonally I'd get an XJ instead.
Probs include headlights falling out - us they are plastic, in Aust the are glued in glass.
Fulltime 4wd system - I;d rather the part/fulltime option of the XJ.
Alloy Dana44 rear diff - possibly a bigger pig than the XJ Dana35......
Bugger all aftermarket blt on mods available compared to the XJ.
etc...
go the Xj

I think that i can deal with the head light problem... but is there any other problems that i should be aware of? headlights can be fixed quite easily!!!
I have heard that chryslers have problems with their brakes... being to small and warping or something like that? can anyone confirm my "source".
Any other mechanical problems, things that will cost a lot to fix

Coming up to 250,000km on the clock. Problems? Bird strike on the DS headlight nearly knocked it out. Superglue is a marvelous thing.
Water pump. Worn shockers, radiator hoses, NORMAL servicing, DS door lock electro thingy stuffed(have to use the KEY!).
