Ok,
the story is a mate of mine has bought a 75 troopy with a f***ed body with a 454 on gas and a gal chassis. basically all the running gear is good but he wants to put his 45 ute body on the 75 chassis and running gear.
He spoke to an engineer and has being told no issues if the bidy is newer, but if it is older than he would have to prove that the new body is as good as or exceedes the safety gear et in the OE body
It would appear to me that there would not be much difference in the 75 and 45 body but has any one done this or has any idea of what he should be doing to ensure it will pass?
Thanks in advance
Tiny

I was told in QLD that he the engineer would not pass a motor swap if the new replacement motor had more the 20% extra power.
Eg: if it came with a 253 only he would not pass 308.

Re: Body Swap
apparently he needs to run straight gas and that is the only real requirement for the engine.scout392 wrote:Its funny they will pull you up on the body but not the BIG BLOCK.Tiny wrote:Ok,

as far as 253 to 308, here in nsw if there was a model came with that engine then as long as the extra gear ie susp and brakes are retro fitted as well it does not even need an engineers cert????? this was strange to me but hey.....a mate did it and apparently RTA let it through, I still would have thought you woulf need and enginers cert to say you have done the right retro fit
