Unfortunately no, my pink slip man would pass anything for me but I think that may be one of the reason he doesn't do blueysudm wrote:I thought that anyone who did pink slips also did blue slips, cause the bloke that does my pinks has also done my motor conversion blue slip.

Do want help or do you want to be a smartass?UZJ40 wrote:its the type of blue slip where you dont have to take the vehicle in to get the slip.
What are the mods you've done that requires you to get a backhander blue slip? I need to know this so that i can ask my own reputable blue slip inspector if he is willing to "inspect" your vehicle.

No, there are AVIS (authorised vehicle inspection station)and AUVIS (authorised UNREGISTERED vehicle station), AVIS are pinkies and AUVIS are pinkys and bluies. We used to do all inspections including Heavy Vehicle. We dont do private vehicles anymore which really shits me.udm wrote:I thought that anyone who did pink slips also did blue slips, cause the bloke that does my pinks has also done my motor conversion blue slip.

is the vehicle dodgy (i have seen the thread and dont think so) or is it that it is not engineered, in which case does it make any difference, the inspectors check things work and are rust free ect not if the car is engineered or engineerable??
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!

no its not dodgy, all the work is good. but because it has been unregistered for years, and all the work done it will need to go over the pits etc. just wanted to short cut things and get it registered, and then when its finished get the eng certificate, which it will get as it is all done properly. except for the exhaust, which i will have to run cats to get it registered but i just want a simple straight through system.
really the only reason for registering it is for comps like tuff truck etc.
it wont be driven on the road except for mabye the occasional weekend out to appin or meni
just trying to save some time and $$

Pinkslip is roadworthy and bluey is over the pits, vehicle has to be in the same guise as it left the factory.
These days you have to return to the same shop to have it passed but how long is the time frame before you can take it elsewhere?

So exactly why should there be two type of slip then? I reckon you should PM UZJ40 with the details of you bluey blokeCharlie wrote:Not doubting you mate but I can only reporting what usually happens in practice, I’ve been across twice with modded forbies with no problems. We all know there can be a big gap between theory and practice.
