The organisers usually accepts 10% more to allow for non-starters.

For those in rural areas, the starting point is at Merringtons camp ground (Walhalla). First competitor will get their paper work at 9:30am and the rest of us will get ours at one minute interval after that.

I was in the area last November and I did notice that Rawson no longer sells fuel. I'll have to bring a few jerry cans just to make it back to Moe.

Bridle track has been graded so there shouldn't be traffic at the start (aka Challenge 2001).

The Track Coordinators are sneaky buggers. They place questions at wrong tracks so they make you think that you're on the right track.

Hmmm... teabagging's not my forte. :? ;)
I'll stick to the Red Bull (lots of) and maybe some pseudoephidrine.
It's gonna be dusty, and dusty means hayfever!

Can anyone confirm whether or not I'll get a commodore down to Merringtons Flat?
That is, without ripping out the k-frame and leaving a sump full of oil on the track! :D

I've been told it's not too rough, but things can change.
We just need a car to keep our extra fuel and camping crap in.
BTW, company car so if it's a little rough, a lil left foot etc..

Last time i was at merringtons last year, you would have been able to get a car in ok. Especially a company car!

I wouldn't risk it even if it's a company car. If there's a bit of rain you may not be able to drive it out and you wouldn't want to be towed out because there's no recovery point behind the plastic bumper.

There will be a designated spot for fuel, so you can bring it with you to Merringtons in your 4wd. The half way mark is back at Merringtons so you can fill up then.

air con uses more fuel, and you are on straight gas, and no jerry cans for you. :finger:

with the hi flowed pump getting fitted thid weekend I might need all the 180 litres of fuel my ute can carry. But the extra power should make up for it.
