Help! 95 landcruiser dual fuel consumption figures

Hope this is Tech enough, Howdy fella's its time for the baby pathfinder to be traded in and I have found a sweet 95 Landcruiser sitting at the back of a local car yard (warne winch,arb lockers front and rear, arb under bonnet compressor,arb front and rear bars, 4 inch lift bla bla bla its awsome need to convince the handbrake that its a good buy, it has dual fuel has anyone got usage rates for theirs or another specificly ltrs of gas to the 100 km sort of thing, basicly we need something big to tow our 23ft 2600kg boat, with the gas are they that more economical and I mean not towing, the boat will never be towed great distances so around town and on the track figures please, my pathfinder is deisel and she is screaming about staying deisel with the next one

Doesn't the 80 series have only a 2500kg tow limit? If so then towing 2600kg will be at your own risk insurance wise etc

Depends on the tow bar thats on it.

Mines got a 2500kg rating.

My mates is similar, has a plate that goes over the rear bar section and bolts to the four rear bolts, this one has a plate that states 3500kg.

Also, check the tow hitch you slide into it has the right capacity, mine has two different ratings depending on which way you use it: up or down.

I get 5.5 km per ltr on solid fuel on the cruiser. I had a gq on gas and got about 3.5 - 4 kms per ltr and it was a 4.2 so will be much the same. If yu are worried about economy buy a diesel. It all depends what you are used to

Hi, I have a 95 80 on duel fuel. My range is 505 to 510 kms to 115ltr of gas, which I feel is quite reasonable and better than the HZ 5.0ltr I had on gas.

Is that 510k's to a tank of gas ONLY zackde, or is that filling both tanks and going through both your fuel and gas.

Also was this city or highway driving aswell.??

I enquired about getting a gas system fitted and was quoted $2200 dollars and was told there was stuff all power loss between gas and fuel and the biggest tank available was 90 usuable litres. Is that correct.??

You would probably remove the sub tank completely to get the biggest tank in there, and dont forget you can only fill to about 90% of the tank size.

In the 100 series you can fit a tank alongside the chassis rail down the middle of the car, dunno if this works on an 80.

By comparison my diesel 1hz, is getting 13.6lt/100km at the moment but thats city driving in traffic, stop start and "heavy foot" take off's. Highway driving got me down to about 12.2 at best.

I have a 100 series and yes the 90lt usable tank is tghe one i have that replaces the AUX tank.

If the LPG is tuned right u should not notice the power differance

hi ive got gas on my 80 series 4.5 petrol and it gets about 340-350 ks out of 90 useable litres. runs like freaking crap though have had it back to the mechanic 4 times and still keeps stalling and running crap when you back off after doing a steady speed .be careful of this.otherwise powerdifference is stuff all thanks muds

I have a 95 80 series manual 285/750AT tyers on lpg, had it fitted 7 months ago $ 2500 to fit an impco system.Towing a 750kg camper plus all the gear ect i was using about 30/33 liters per 100klm.Un loaded Hwy driving at the speed limits about 25 liters per 100klm.City about 28/30 liters per 100klm.With the price of lpg around sydney 65cents the saving to me is becoming marginal it was 38cents last year nearly a %50 increase.
Had unichip fitted and dyno tuned 3weeks ago $1400 for dual mapping.
To try and get better economy,Runs a lot better now it has 4/5 kw more on lpg 105 octaine,than standard ulp 91 octaine, big improvement on drivability.
I am still testing for fuel usage before and after fitting the unchip and have no figures as yet. But at the total cost of $4000 i am still wondering if ihave gone down the right track, with the price rise in lpg.

Yes that is the gas only range. It does start on petrol but immediatly switches to gas so I am sure to have about 1/4 tankof petrol. This is a combination of Hwy and city. Driving I drive from Healesville down the Hwy through to Bayswater every day so a fair mix of traffic and cruising.
I am running the BF Goodrich Muddies 285 /75.

Also my gas tank is an Elko tank 115ltrs and not the APA tank which is 94 ltrs (useable).

I work with a fellow that is having the same symptons you desribe with his 80. Both his and mine are the 95 update model but his Gas system is the Impco, and mine is the Elko. I do not know much about the different manufacturers but I do not suffer any of the problems he and you have and my fuel economy is far better?
