Is there an easy way of wiring up the old style GQ tail lights to replace the dummy lights that exist in later GQ's. I want to be able to go back to standard without much effort if I have to.
The older style come with a mini loom and plug but not sure whether that plug is compatible with the existing plug that powers the bumper tail lights.
I am guessing some forum members have allready gone down this path and I would appreciate some guidance.

Quick way to wire up new old style GQ tail lights please.
A speed camera would have prevented that!
Depending on what plug you got with yours. I went to jaycar and couldnt match it. So I brought another 6 pin plug, and cut the other one off.
I then used a bit of trailor wire(5core will do- I got 7core and it looks abit messy) to get an earth/stop/tail/indicator power off the bumper lights. And just ran a short wire to the reverse light (as this is already in the upper panel.
The trailer wire I just fed up through the rubber gromet on the inside of the guard. Then stripped the wires soldered them and pushed them into the connecter.
As for the connecter plug try and get one that uses spade type connectors. I think they are better than the type I got. Only thing is they only come in 2 and 4 wire( going by the ones I found). So if I was to do it agian I would us a 2wire for reverse and earth. And a 4 wire (only use 3) for the others). As if you put them into the wrong hole for that light they are easier to pull apart.
For connecting to the other end to the bumper wires I just used those clip on style connecters. Then wrapping them in tape. There not the best. As I am having probas with the earth wire on one side and I might just solder this one (failed RWC cos of it).
