grand vitara front diff

how do you get the left hand drive shaft out of the diff ass.( is it pressed in ) and also what is the procedure to re install it again ???? as im am trying to lock the front diff with a c.i.g locker

the drivers side stub axle? just use something the leaver it out, watch the seal.

For the other side a big hammer, a few hits and it should pop out.

i not sure you would be able to do this with the stock center, as part of the diff moves across to engage the sidegear.

I think some freewheeling hubs will be in order too and what he said, just use a decent hammer and it will tap right out.

prybar either side of the flange and pry it out evenly.... it will pop out as theres a spring clip on the end of the axle that it needs to pop over

Can you weld the front up on the vits if it has the manual hubs?

yeah but durability wise it will last 5 feet and smash apart.... vitara front diffs and c.v.'s aren't exactily known for the strength and durability

burn it get the !@#$%^&*( get rid of it and by something with a solid axle front then you wont have any more worries huggles

update pulled the diff out and found i have stripped teeth off the pinion gear

after pulling my whole diff apart we threw the air slide part of the diff in the bin and also threw the spidergears in the bin and welded the rest of it up.Took it out on saturday night for a quik play and what a different car to drive . And if i snap cv joints it will be ok because the other half works at hardy spicer
