what have you got a troopy ute or shorty and what year model as we just did the conversion and you'll need at least 3 trolley jacks or a lot of man power GOOD LUCK
What year is the FJ45? Older ones don't have a crossmember that the 5 speed needs to rest on.
Is the 45 a ute or troopy? I'm under the impression well bodies and troopies have a parking brake on the transfer and you need a rear diff with a parking brake.
You'll need the driveshafts resized after the conversion. A front driveshaft from a BJ42 will work. Not sure, but there may be enough slack in the speedo cable to work with the 5 speed.
If the 5 speed is from a 60 or a 75, the shifter hole on the floor needs to be extended as the shifter is farther toward the rear.
you might find that that you'll have to cut out the chassis cross member and the gear box will hit the fuel tank ,everything gets moved back 3.5"the rear drive shaft has to be shortened 85mm and the front has to be lengthened 3.5"
When we did the mine into my troopy i think it hit the pipe crossmember but we got it in there.
You'll need to get a gearbox mount crossmember, bolt your gearbox in place (it should stay there because your engine will have four mounts), the locate the crossmember under the chassis (you may have to pack it a bit, not sure) and drill two holes either side to bolt it up - i can't remember if the holes are already there on the older chassis's.
Gearsticks do move.

60 series selector rails are different to 40 series selector rails. the gearstick on a 60 series sits further back than a 40 series one. (same box, only different rails)
