Why worry about a few kilo`s here or there, you still gunna kane the fourk out it anyway and you want the strength factor with you, so you can play another day, not rebuild it weeks later.
Yeah i hear you Bentzook im still not 100% but im leaning more for
the Toy duals ,duals only cause im worried bout not having enuf reduction with only 5.1 's in the single toy case with 37"s and upwards tyres on the vit ...gives the option to really crawl if needed wif the duals ............
Spoke to Gonads the other day about the adaptor sounds the goods
Ps no one has any idea what a dual case setup actually weighs

So what crawl ratio would a single 5.1 case give you? I'm thinking you'll have heaps...
If I had scales, I could weigh a case for you but I'm guessing they're around 25-30kg each. So say 30kg for the rear, 10kg for the front, and 10kg for the adaptor gets you to around 50kg. That's my estimate - sorry I don't have any real figures.....
that sounds reasonable ....I may just go with the duals as the adaptor requires some gear cutting and Id rather cut the standard input than the crawler gear input shaft ...
lenght wise it will prob end up similair to a vit transfer lenght certainly be shorter than a dual zook case ...
crawl ratio ...mmmm havent wrked it out yet but with the little 1.6 and auto I wont have the poke I wanted to beable get on it with the torque from a bigga motor say (22r or 3rzfe as i was intially goin to run in the other rig ..... so with the second case i wont get the wheel speed but atleast it wont bog down ...
1 mad will be shaking his head but this donk was already in and runnin so it wrked out easier for me ..
The only problem with the dual Toy` cases is no Hi-range reduction, unless you run one of the cases [the front one with 2.28/1] as a hi-range substitute on the road.
37s are gunna be hard work on the road, but if the Vit`s going to be trailered here and there, you wont use that much Hi-range.
Thats why Im sticking a set of 35s on the road and a set of skinny 38 boggers for more interesting trails.
But if I run with 38s at werock, that puts me up against all the tube rigs.
and yes bentzook it will get trailered to comps although I wouldstill like to be able to wheel local areas .which are within a reasonable drivin distance .....
I will have 4.8's in the diffs ...the idea you mentioned about the first case has already been discussed between a few mates and could be option ...but aslong it gets to a reasonable speed on road 37"s may end beingthe road tyres and get bigga for comps ..... I do have some spanker 315"s if i get desparate for street drivin it will get engineered with these so i prob should make use of them for streeting to keep the constables happy ( well hopefully )
Sorry, a bit off topic but what engine and gear box are you running?
The weight of the dual case set up is not the only thing to take into account but they are also relatively long therefore rear driveshafts can be an issue.
Well I'm guessing that they didn't think everyone would carry on like a big bunch of sooky girls over it like they have........
Got the Vit transfer out 2 nite wieght of it alone is 24kgs so it aint gunna be a hole lot more (yes 36 kgs is still a fair wack but its the price i'll have to pay .........if went the single case it would only work out fractionally heavier once u allow for the adaptor from the vit auto to the toy transfer .....
