hi does anyone know who sells new timing covers for a 22r hilux engine . toyota want $470 for a new one.(no way).my mate was taking the head off and cracked the top off coz he didnt take out the bolt at the front of the head. rang around everywhere to find one but to no avail. mobile alloywelder wants 200 bucks to fix it. having heaps of trouble trying to get the bolt out for the front pulley too. must be locktighted in even tryed a rattle gun.im thinking a new engine is the go. thanks muds

ouch lern;t the hard way like me, you go two things wreckers charge between 150-175 for a 2nd hand timing cover, or there is a site that has them new overseas for about 80 us dollars
2nd with that crank bolt, discounted the coil, put it in netruel, put a 6 sided impact socket with a breaker bar onto the chassis, give it a quick crank with the starter and that pops it off no worries.
mayaswell replace chain dampners if they look worn when u have the case off, carful also while tightening the head bolt onto the timing chain cover, its just thin aluuminum and can snap very very easy as u have seen.
