1UZ-FE R151 Transfer case addaptor?

Post by junglist »

I'm trying to pen and papper my 1UZ-FE Swap. Dellows provide the following kit to hook up the 1uzfe with a R15x box.

*Please note I'm not a mechanic just a maniac with a dream and no woman to say no* so if i'm off track with some of this info it's because I have no idea what I'm talking about.

//---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kit includes:
Bell housing, pilot bearing & pivot ball- regular gearbox $495
Clutch fork & clip $75
Clutch plate $110
Flywheel (made for steel to customers specifications) $325
Flywheel bolt set (8-bolts) $25
Pressure plate (6-bolt) $125
Push rod $25
Thrust race & carrier $75
Slave cylinder (advise which side) $45
//-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So that's the 1uzfe matched to any of the following boxes.

R150 3.86 FIRST
R151 4.31 FIRST

There is also a kit to match it to R154 from a supra.

Problem is I can't find any information on how to addapt the R151 to my hilux LN106R gear driven transfer box. Those R151 only came out with chain driven transfers.

Does anyone have any information for me.

Thanks Scott.

P.S

An 86/87 turbo surf in the states had an R151f with a gear driven transfer mated to it. http://members.iinet.net.au/~ozrunner/g ... /R151a.jpg

I don't understand which part is the addapter. I found the transfer from one of these for sale and I almost grabbed it but I was worried it wouldn't mate with my australian purchased R151.

Finnally... I have heard a little bit about H150's being a straight bolt up. Haven't reseached it at all here is the paste from somewhere else.

//-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"used the bellhousing, 5 speed g/box, h151, and transfer,part time, from a 100# series cruiser it was a straight bolt in, and i can use the standard 100# clutch.
i also used the 100# crossmember to hold up the box."

In the 79 with a 1hz engine thay have the R151F gearbox. The 79 with the 1HDFTE has the H150 gearbox which is significantly stronger. It also has a larger clutch etc etc.

The shaft between R151F gearbox and transfer on the early (2000-2001) HZJ79R breaks.
Factory TD (HDJ79R) has the stronger H150F gearbox

You need to use the marks adaptor plate to convert the chain to gear driven case.
Tell them its for the r150/151 and a 23-21 spline coupler will be supplied.
Part # MFK1598/23
Take a look here.
